Agent Orange Conference Volunteering
UCR's Southeast Asian Studies department is having a conference next week on the effects of the Agent Orange chemical used during the Vietnam War. They are looking for students interested in volunteering as docents on Thursday, May 7th, from aprox. 6:30 PM - 9 PM.
This is an awesome volunteering opportunity that you can put on your co-curricular transcript or if you need community service hours for the Honors Program. The program takes place at UCR's California Museum of Photography in downtown Riverside. As docents, we will be acting as crowd control, making sure everything functions smoothly, answering questions that people may have, etc.
The Agent Orange Conference is about the effects of the 'agent orange' chemical used during the Vietnam War. It includes speakers as well as an art exhibit. Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to go help out. If you do not think you can come, but would still like to help, we need drivers. If anyone would like to help drive students to the conference at 6:30 PM and then take people back to campus at 9 PM, that would be awesome and you are very welcome to stay in your wish. Thanks again for your interest, I hope to hear from you soon!
Please e-mail Sharon (schan046@student.ucr.edu) if you are interested in going, or if you know anyone else who might want to go.

Stop the Cancer! Relay for Life on Saturday, April 25
Relay for Life at Valley View High School: There is a community service opportunity at the Valley View High School in Moreno Valley. Since there will be many teams participating there, our main job is to help check the registration forms and then put them in a team box. Then when the Team Captain comes, we will need to give him/her a box that contains his team's stuff.
The Relay for Life is a fundraiser for American Cancer Society and the fund will help ACS doing cancer researches. It starts at 7 AM but there will be one shift from 11am to 3pm shift. The driver for this shift has room for 4 people in her car. However, you could stay as long as you want to. And please contact us soon so we can have a headcount.
Please email Amanda before Monday, April 19 at: asupl002@student.ucr.edu
