Alpha Lambda Delta and the CommunityAlpha Lambda Delta has always tried to give back to the surrounding Riverside community. Since its establishment in 1995, ALD has been a part of countless community clean-ups, donation drives, mentoring programs, and other charity events.
We take pride in our members and their outstanding commitment not only to their own personal success, but also to the generosity that they show others. A key pillar in ALD at UCR's mission statement is community service because not only does the community benefit, but our members learn about themselves and the meaning of teamwork. ALD performs typical service events off campus at different locations, however we also offer in-meeting events as well for those who have a busy schedules or might go home on the weekends. We do not stop at servicing just the Riverside community either! UC Riverside itself has needs of its own and ALD is there to lend a helping hand. ALD has worked alongside other student organizations as well as campus offices to make sure that the university and all of its programs run smoothly. ALD does not require a minimum amount of community service hours for its members, and members are free to attend service events as their schedule allows. Many members quickly learn that these events turn into great socializing and networking events and find a new passion for giving back. |
