Alpha Lambda Delta is a National Honors Society open to students who earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in their first quarter at a four-year university. The UC Riverside chapter of ALD is a student-run academic organization and is not considered a "Greek" (fraternity/sorority) organization despite our letters.
What does Alpha Lambda Delta do?
Alpha Lambda Delta at UC Riverside is a busy organization filled with many activities for first-year students to get involved in. We pride ourselves in fulfilling our three pillars of Leadership, Community, and Networking. Our high standards in our invitation progress assures that all invited members are excelling in their academics. What Alpha Lambda Delta at UC Riverside strives to do is to take these academically inclined students and provide them with opportunities to then become the most well-rounded individuals in their class.
Why should I join Alpha Lambda Delta?
Our organization is a great way for first-year students to make friends among peers who share similar academic goals and interests, while also making a difference within the community through fun community service activities. Alpha Lambda Delta is a nationally prestigious Honors Society, and membership and activities done under our organization can and will be recognized on job applications, graduate school admissions essays, and résumés. Membership in Alpha Lambda Delta also provides access to the new tutoring and workshop programs that ALD have begun to provide as both mentors and mentees.
How do I join Alpha Lambda Delta?
Prospective members are selected to join Alpha Lambda Delta at the end of their first quarter. If you qualify, an e-mail will be sent to your school e-mail. Please complete the application attached to the letter and that's it!
